first week of classes is over. one course, History of Mission, has a reasonable workload, while the other, Cultural Anthropology, looks to be quite heavy, with more than 1000 pages of reading and two papers. i don't mind having to memorize a lot, it's the amount of required reading that brings stress. it was wise, then, to only enroll in two courses this term. i enjoy the professor and his teaching style, which allows for frequent discussion (or for me, mostly listening to others share) and personal reflection. by the end of the semester, i'll definitely need time off...and the trip is now only 3 months and a week away!!!

dreamt the previous night about being obstructed by a snowstorm on the way to fellowship. thankfully that hasn't happened... on the news, it was mentioned that at this time last year, there was a snowstorm. does anyone remember that? i don't.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, JACKY! and HAPPY BIRTHDAY, JACK!

sharon, get better soon! may He give you rapid recovery and an overabundance of strength to finish off the month.
