time has shown that job-wise, 'ideal' and 'actual' are as far away as north and south. specifically i'm referring here to dealing with misbehavior, especially in the area of attitude. but despite the lack of smiley-ness, students know they are at fault and will still seek affection and attention after the whole ordeal is over, the apologies have been meted out, etc. and though the stress has been tremendous, i have really enjoyed making connections with families, not just the kids themselves, and observing the dynamics that operate within each. praying with and for the group before each lesson doesn't hurt, either. :) in parentis locos (sp?) has never been truer.
and after all these years of praying for a mentor, He has finally delivered the kindest, gentlest, giving soul. thanks for allowing me to share so much with you!
