three generous families' year end gift made it possible for us to go indoor rock climbing for our anniversary yesterday. overall, we had an amazing time, and i was able to go away with several insights as well:

  • a little goes a long way
  • precision, precision, precision (in parallel with the "location, location, location" motto for homebuyers and budding entrepreneurs)
  • the rewards of pushing through even at the toughest, most exhausting point
  • overcoming fear in order to make great gains
  • learning from others (who have gone before, and those also on the climb) without a sense of competition or inferiority, but with a peaceful acceptance of your own limitations
  • necessity of support - even when you want to and think you can do everything yourself, it makes a world of difference when others are there giving you a boost
  • importance of complete trust and faith - in the strength and durability of the rope, in the ability of your partner (balayer) to hold on to you when you are suspended "n" feet in the air

ideals for our walk with the Lord as well? the apostle Paul writes:

Brothers, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.

would i go again? in a heartbeat!
