received an e-mail from one of my youth today that contained a common tough question, "why does God allow bad things to happen?" this was posed in light of how recently many that this young person knows have fallen ill. so, i had a divine opportunity to minister to her as i explained God's plan, free will and sin. the question was actually an inspiration to me, for it reminds me that the younger generations nowadays do think about the hard stuff, even amid the attractions of modern technology and gadgetry.

"Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have." (1 Peter 3:15)

a little past this point last year was when i started in my current job, which i love, however tough and draining some days are. i'm so thankful for a position where i can daily influence young lives for the better, teaching them not only book knowledge but substance that will allow them to live meaningfully and as responsible citizens. naturally, there are moments when i wish i could intentionally bring out more of my witness, but this is the true mission field where the harvest is indeed plentiful, yet the workers are few.

easter is just days away, and spring break not too far from that. i look upon the upcoming trip westward with anticipation, not only because it's a brief getaway, but as the start of a new chapter in what God has planned. stay tuned... :)
