thanks, Jesus, for an incredible Easter, for the challenge to trade 3 nails for Your cross, for the empty tomb and cloth as irrefutable evidence of Your resurrection, for your tender mercies that are new each morning and give us eternal hope.

our small group had a triple celebration - two baptisms, two transfers of membership, and a birthday. simply unforgettable!!!

thank the Lord for His unending, unconditional mercies - for if His love for us depended on whether we were able to do this and that, our relationship would be *kaput* just like that. no, He chooses to love us if we look upon the cross and accept the hope that it brings to us.

can this also ring true for friendships? or is our 'status' with another contingent upon whether or not we can be free when everything else says otherwise? it seems God has given me a response with a recent struggle - a bit tough to accept as there has been so much invested, but perhaps this set of footprints has finally been washed away by the waves. i suppose i can live with that - or at least, i have to.

God grant me the serenity
to accept the things I cannot change;
courage to change the things I can;
and wisdom to know the difference.

Living one day at a time;
Enjoying one moment at a time;
Accepting hardships as the pathway to peace;
Taking, as He did, this sinful world
as it is, not as I would have it;
Trusting that He will make all things right
if I surrender to His Will;
That I may be reasonably happy in this life
and supremely happy with Him
Forever in the next.
Amen.

many memories from the weekend
  • finally connecting with my prayer partner
  • watching the Easter musical, "The Difference," with my small group
  • learning about human insanity and our subsequent need for mercy
  • my good friends being installed as the youth pastoral team
  • celebrating the 70th birthday of one of the most altruistic, outstanding ladies i have ever known

    and He has been faithful in revealing that there is indeed sunshine after the rain, and that He delights in the music of our hearts.

    i've done all i can do, really. and so the waiting begins. well okay, not so much tapping my foot and counting the minutes, but going about my everyday business while seeing if the ball bounces back or if it's truly time to let go. perhaps He's already given me the answer. jenny, thanks for helping me through this ^^

    meanwhile, the sun is out, the snow is melting, and there is so much of His creation to take in. thanks, Maker of heaven and earth!
