Vivienne, thanks so much for the phone call today. I will pray that God gives you clarity in vision for your future. Can't wait till we chat again!

Andy, praise God for sending you to Guatemala and giving you such a rich experience there. I can't wait to hear more about your ministry...have you taught them Cheesehead yet?

Marlene, you are beyond cool. We want to hear about your LTM in the Philippines, so please write! Love you lots!

had a lovely chat with tangie on saturday, each sharing about our travels over the summer and what has happened since we last met up (...a year and a half ago, probably!!). and we realize that it's never going to get any less busy, but to be able to list off at least five who are close to us is a blessing never to be taken for granted.

thanking God also that despite the leak fiasco on sunday afternoon, we didn't have more serious flooding in our basement. however, i definitely don't want to be on my knees with a 'water sucking machine' ever again!

how i could have muddled the january dates is beyond me. i was aiming for too much, i know...but if someone IS available right after Christmas, it can all be re-arranged again. ela, johannes, desiree, matthias, heike, rosmarie, sarah b please let me know!

look at the pandas!!!!! awwwwwwww.....

Vielen Dank Gott fur... providing stress relief this weekend via thought-provoking discussion on the case for christ at fellowship; and enjoying sushi, BBtea and chinese checkers w/ lesley, lynn and rose.

anticipating lots of time buried in my textbooks this week (and the rest of the semester!), but praying i can spare saturday morning to "have a pastry and take a nice walk" with TM - friends with simple satisfactions are fabulous!

and THANKS, LISA!!

first week of classes is over. one course, History of Mission, has a reasonable workload, while the other, Cultural Anthropology, looks to be quite heavy, with more than 1000 pages of reading and two papers. i don't mind having to memorize a lot, it's the amount of required reading that brings stress. it was wise, then, to only enroll in two courses this term. i enjoy the professor and his teaching style, which allows for frequent discussion (or for me, mostly listening to others share) and personal reflection. by the end of the semester, i'll definitely need time off...and the trip is now only 3 months and a week away!!!

dreamt the previous night about being obstructed by a snowstorm on the way to fellowship. thankfully that hasn't happened... on the news, it was mentioned that at this time last year, there was a snowstorm. does anyone remember that? i don't.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, JACKY! and HAPPY BIRTHDAY, JACK!

sharon, get better soon! may He give you rapid recovery and an overabundance of strength to finish off the month.
