to be caught up in busyness isn't always a good thing, but if there's meaning that reflects CHRISTmas, i embrace it :) this past saturday our small group had its hot pot + puzzling celebration, and no doubt that was better than bright nights. i'm glad everyone could come. then sunday was church + seniors' lodge ministry + baptism/transfer of membership service + Christmas banquet. i'm currently not an ongoing member of the seniors' lodge ministry, but i really have found a reason to go - now it's a matter of having enough minutes! hoping to upload pictures from the baptism/transfer of membership service soon, once i get another free moment. meanwhile, i've finally wrapped up the project at work and have four days to cram a suitcase. ^_^

i've managed to avoid the crush of stressed out shoppers this year by making purchases at the oddest times. however, for some reason, i still always need to get toiletries, and have come to dread those wal-mart outings, where it's been as crowded as boxing day ever since the first snow of the season (what was that, back in october?!?).

currently reading the chinese version of lady in waiting, loaned to me by jeh jeh and learning immensely from it. oh, we can learn so much from ruth!

thankful to have re-established contact with my childhood best friend. mel, you're an inspiration to me!

so i sniffled my way through the week and i think it's eventually tapering off...i know i'm definitely tiring of all the herbal medicine, but it's preferable to antibiotics any day. yesterday turned out to have lots of pleasant surprises, with the highlight being dinner with close friends, cute kids and goh gohs. and it seems my passion for chinese checkers has yet to cease... :p
